Over the years, MUTEK has been asked on numerous occasions to present, co-present, or curate events on the international circuit.  MUTEK’s activities have taken different formats: the presentation of one-off showcases/evenings, the organization of tours, and the production of versions of the festival outside Quebec

To better accommodate these requests and in an effort to better organize our activities calendar, we’ve divided our year into three seasons that correspond to specific geographic zones and that are best described as follows:

• A North American season from January to June, characterized by different programming and promotional activities in Canada and the U.S, and culminating in the presentation of the MUTEK festival in Montreal;
• A European season from July to September, based around a new festival that has yet to be defined and that will have its first edition mounted in 2009;
• A South American season from October to December, inaugurated with the launch of the Mexican edition of the MUTEK festival (which celebrates its fifth anniversary in October 2008) and is followed by other programming activities in the Southern hemisphere, notably in Chile and Argentina.

It’s worth noting that this division of seasons/territories constitutes a general guidelines to our activities.  We present this calendar not to exclude opportunities that don’t fall within these parameters, but only to help us prioritize certain aspects of our year.
