With All Due Respect (CA)

Ambient electro, minimal and dub converge in the aural universe of With All Due Respect to create a sombre, trippy soundscape sprinkled with politically charged vocal samples. And this duo clearly sees themselves as engagé – witness the ironic name, enigmatic song titles and anti-establishment, apocalyptic video montages that accompany their live incarnation. Behind this electro-politico concept lurk a pair of committed gearheads who also happen to be empassioned arrangers. One comes from the hip-hop and dub milieux; the other from the electronic and industrial realms. As W.A.D.R., they’re writing the soundtrack to the apocalypse – tranquil, deserted, ethereal. The two soundsmiths behind this idiosyncratic project prefer to keep mum about their true identities and let the music and imagery do all the talking, the better to reinforce their message. Now close your eyes and imagine the end of the world as only you know it.
