Marcus Schmickler (DE)

No longer do we count the collaborations (notably with Kaffe Mathews, Peter Rehberg, Thomas Lehn, Jan St. Werner, Thomas Brinkmann, Julee Cruise) or the solo projects by Marcus Schmickler. For more than eight years, whether it's under his own name, under the references of Wabi Sab and Pluramon, or as a member of the MIMEO collective, this Cologne native has been on a never-ending mission of innovation-striking down ancient, outdated models, and integrating the electronic into the fold of compositions for chamber orchestras! An extraordinary sound engineer, he never second-guesses an opportunity to explore new avenues or to push the boundaries of sonic research until they almost seem to want to explode. With his multiple and unwavering approaches, Marcus Schmickler constructs a very dense universe where letting go and familiarizing yourself with the jubilatory pleasure of an extreme audio experience is a priority.
