Barem (AR)

CANADIAN DEBUT Mauricio Barembuem (aka Barem) is one of the new emerging talents of Latin American techno. Following a trip to Berlin in which he discovered the minimal scene, the young Mauricio threw away his guitar and ventured into the world of electronic music. Barem’s productions are based on a characteristic groove made up of synthetic samples, analogue elements and hypnotic bass lines; although like most of Latin American artists he never misses the chance to integrate rhythmic flourishes.

His tracks are regularly played out by the cream of the crop, including Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Troy Pierce among others. Barem has published his works on cutting-edge labels such as Foundsound, Unfoundsound and most notably Richie Hawtin’s legendary m_nus imprint.
