NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT Sweden’s Axel Willner, who records as The Field, is currently one of the most critically acclaimed names in contemporary electronic music. His highly coveted debut album, From Here We Go Sublime, appeared on the venerable Kompakt label in 2007 and quickly crossed over into more mainstream circles to become one of the most critically acclaimed albums of that year. The Field specializes in producing a blissed-out, circular form of trance that matches its minimalism in emotive gesture. For this MUTEK performance, Willner will be presenting the Canadian premiere of his live trio.
