As a studio project, Kapotte Muziek is concerned with recycling used sound into a new product. As a live project, Frans de Waard, Peter Duimelinks and Roel Meelkop (all three also members of Goem) make use of everyday sounds to create auditory collages, with an emphasis on listening, rather than preconceived ideas/conceptions. Pre-recorded environmental sounds are mixed with noises generated by the live manipulation of objects found on and around the performance site. It is here that Kapotte Muziek really takes shape. Following a workshop that they will give during the day, the three accomplices invite us to a concert where, accompanied by their 'students', sounds gleaned from the performance site will be re-mixed on location inviting the audience to visit the space - not with their eyes but with their ears.
