Emisor (AR)

Underground figure from Buenos Aires for many years, Leonardo Ramella had been a drummer for groups such as El corte and Mimilocos, and created Resonantes with Flavio Etcheto at the beginning of the 1990s, before ultimately transforming into Emisor in 1998 in order to explore (with the companionship of only one computer) a sound resolutely oriented toward what he describes as the virtuality of music.

Emisor's compositions, free-ranging but at times decisively labyrinth-esque, convey their richness and their folly within a vast sonic universe ranging from the more artificial to the more natural and everyday (i.e. crickets, birds, diverse machinery, electric disturbances, etc). With a sound he likes to categorize as 'extraterrestrially folkloric', Emisor alludes to strange nether region, both playful and conceptual.
