For the past six years, Ontario-bred, Montréal-based Alicia Hush has been churning out an array of releases, remixes and live DJ sets stepped in ghetto tech, booty house and crispy funk minimalism. On stage, this underground darling catches the ears and hearts of patrons with her emotionally charged, bass-driven grooves. Hush is the co-founder of Hushlamb Productions, a nerve centre for Toronto’s independent electronic community that has since relocated to Montréal. Hush is also involved in two ongoing collaborative projects: Yes Ma’am, a kinetic live project with Ana+one that graced the MUTEK stage in 2013 and at the 2014 Nuit Blanche, and La Moosh, an effortlessly smooth DJ duo with soul sistah Zeina. As Hushlamb gears up for the launch of its digital and vinyl record label later this year, Alicia Hush brings her exuberant bassline bent to the Savoy.
