Nocturne 4
MUTEK 2013, montreal

Metropolis 02/06/2013

Cofounders of the Innervisions imprint with Henrik Schwarz and Dixon, German deep house duo Âme, Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, have been refining their own genre-hopping electronic voice - one that melds Detroit influences with soulful tech-house and broken beats. While the bulk of their early output was released on Berlin label Sonar Kollektiv, run by the emblematic Jazzanova collective, Âme owes its international renown to the Rej EP (2005), hailed as a bona fide classic around the world and championed by the likes of John Tejada, Sven Väth and Damian Lazarus. Their second album Live (2012) features new versions of their finest throbbing, mechanized grooves. MUTEK welcomes Frank Wiedemann, one half of Âme, for his inaugural live performance at the festival.
