MUTEK presents 15 x 15
Coeur Des Sciences 02/03/2014
Ontario-bred, Montréal-based producer/DJs, Alicia Hush and Ana+one (aka Jesse Morrison) are Yes Ma’am, a vibrant, bass-driven live project steeped in a mutual appreciation for ghetto tech and booty house. Hush is the co-founder of Hushlamb Productions, a nerve centre for Toronto’s independent electronic community, while Morrison’s cut-and-paste, lush minimalism has found its way into Montréal venues over the last decade. The Yes Ma’am identity – an assortment of quirky basslines that run the gamut from glitch-y darkness to high-energy exuberance – took root in the city a little over a year ago. At MUTEK 2013, they treated festivalgoers to a sweeping kinetic-house showcase as part of the EXPÉRIENCE series.
Ontario-bred, Montreal-based producer/DJs, Alicia Hush & Ana+one (aka Jesse Morrison) have pooled together their minimal funky clout for Yes Ma’am, their infectious new live project. Yes Ma’am’s extrasensory sonic spacecraft recently landed in Montreal, letting locals in on its cleverly coated basslines and energetic tech-house grooves. Hush is the co-founder of Hushlamb Productions, while Morrison enjoys an enduring history with Montreal nightlife that first took off when he met Frivolous in the early 2000’s. Yes Ma’am’s live audio set promises clouds of billowy rhythms care of an arsenal of drum machines, laptops and controllers.
