Dominique T. Skoltz (CA)

Dominique t Skoltz is a media artist, photographer, and director who works with both organic and digital materials and whose polymorphous work is instantly recognizable. In addition to her individual work, Skoltz has collaborated with the artist, Herman Kolgen on many installations, performances and films that investigate the organic rapport between image and sound. Having collaborated on projects across the globe, from South America to Asia, skoltz_kolgen pieces also defy easy categorization and continue to make regular appearances on the media art circuit.

EXTRA_MUROS: Using urban Montreal as a canvas

01/06/2009

Immeuble Cooper Building, 3981-3987 boulevard Saint-Laurent

DISLOCK_, by Montreal’s DOMINIQUE T SKOLTZ, is a series of small tableaus in which two dislocated bodies come together over a passage of time. One man, one woman, drawn to each other through sheer magnetism.   The unfolding imagery is arrhythmic, like irregular breathing, in the image of the bodies that compose the tableaus. Sequential photographic snapshots assure the temporal fragmentation of the action. Polymorphic artist Dominique T Skoltz has collaborated for over ten years as a member of the duo SKOLTZ_KOLGEN. An intuitive creator, her corpus negotiates between intention and accident.

This project will be launched on site on Thursday May 28, at 9 PM.
