Helena Nikonole (RU)

Helena Nikonole is a media artist and lecturer whose work explores intersections of art and technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of things. She's concerned with an artistic exploration of the potential possibilities—and also the potential risks— of technologies like Machine Learning, which is necessary to understand our modern, technologically and media-determined world. She presents lectures and workshops in the field of new media art, art & science and neural network in arts at different institutions including Art Laboratory (Berlin), Institute of Philosophy (Russian Academy of Sciences), the Department of Art & Culture Education Programs and Rodchenko Art School. Her exhibition resumé includes “Persisting Realities” (CTM Festival, Berlin), “Open Codes” (ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, Germany), “The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennial”, “New Codes of Art” (ELECTROMUSEUM, VI Moscow Biennial of Contemporary Art), PolitechScienceArt (GARAGE Museum Moscow), “Earth Lab” (The Polytechnic Museum and Ars Electronica Center), “101” (Mediapoetry Festival, St. Petersburg) and many others.
