MUTEK en Mexico
Laboratorio Arte Alameda
From November 28 to December 7 2003, MUTEK will be touring in Mexico. This MUTEK in MEXICO tour is part of the efforts made by MUTEK during the last year to intensify its involvment on the international scene and, more particularly, in Latin America. After Berlin, Sao Paolo, Valparaiso (Chile), New York, Barcelona and Marseille, three Mexican cities will thus be visited by MUTEK: Mexico City, Guadalajara and Tijuana. Keeping with the contemporary concerns of the organization's mandate, each stop on the tour will come complete with panel discussions, live experimentation and jams, controlled sound experiments, and of course the patented tech-parties with some of the world's most innovative electronic music producers.
The calendar and locations are the following:
Mexico DF, November 28-29: Laboratorio de Arte Alameda, Museo Rufino Tamayo, Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, Foro Sonoro_Inmerso
Guadalajara, December 2-3-4: Explanada Feria Internacional del Libro, Bar Américas, MAZ, Gato Tuelto, Hangar
Tijuana, December 5-6-7: Cecut, Jai Alai Center, Avalon Club
The presentation of the MUTEK in MEXICO tour is part of ¡Voilà Québec en México!, an event running from September 25 to December 7, 2003 that involves many of Quebec's leading cultural figures.
The highlight of MUTEK's participation in the ¡Voilà Québec en México! event will be a showcase of electronic music organized at the Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL) by the Bureau des événements du Québec on the Guadalajara Explanada (December 4), featuring Montreal artists EGG, AKUFEN and CRACKHAUS.
