Satosphère 5: Dream
Dream is an online experience-generating system based on the unique mechanisms of dreams. Imagined and composed by experimental musician Philippe Lambert, Dream is built on a custom audiovisual synthesizer coded by Edouard Lanctôt-Benoit. The animated dreamscapes were created by artists Caroline Robert and Vincent Lambert.
Dreams seem to draw upon personal, collective and genetic memories. Our experiences, senses, intuitions and emotions are filtered by a neurological system that then presents us with a simulated reality guided by its own rules and internal logic. Dream is a brief immersion in a parallel dimension that asks us to reconsider our relationship to both our dreaming and waking states.
For MUTEK, Philippe Lambert will perform the live version of this interactive VR piece created for the NFB: a synthetic and psychedelic soundtrack to a future dream, with live visuals by Edouard Lanctôt-Benoit.
In collaboration with Vincent Lambert and Caroline Robert.
The Satosphère serie is presented by the Society for Arts and Technology and is not included in MUTEK passes. Pass holders are however eligible for a discount of 20% on tickets for these events. Info here.
