Live @ MUTEK 2010 // A fearless veteran of extreme sound design, the Swedish experimenter has been exploring the limits of musical compositions since the late 70s

Starting with today's podcast, we return to the MUTEK Montreal vaults after an extended break. Given that this is the coldest month of February, we've decided to start again with some of the most barren sonic sessions to be found in the history of MUTEK recordings.

A fearless veteran of extreme sound design, Sweden's CARL MICHAEL VON HAUSSWOLFF has been exploring the limits of musical compositions since the late 70s, using a potent combination of tape recordings, sine waves, and minimalist aesthetics as his primary tools. He appeared on the MUTEK stage in 2010, performing at an A/VISIONS showcase that included several well-known contemporary artists who bear the influence of his extensive back catalogue: TIM HECKER, BEN FROST, and VLADISLAV DELAY.  A video excerpt of the performance can be seen here.

Now, this HAUSSWOLFF audio recording is available to soundtrack the sub-zero temperatures forming icicles outside your windows
