Cabaal

Cabaal (CA)

As Cabaal, Canadian producer and musician Ben Globerman manipulates modular synths, drum machines, samplers and controllers into his own nuanced world of rhythmic techno clamour and quiet post-industrial ambience. Cabaal’s sounds emerge out of various natural and constructed processes, from altered acoustic field recordings to purely digital renderings, resulting in four LPs and two EPs since 2011, including his airy yet doom laden 2014 APEX EP, his hazily beautiful and introspective 2014 album Trace Decay (as Ben Globerman) and a new album set for release in spring 2015. He’s played throughout North America, participated in New York City’s 2013 Red Bull Music Academy, and worked in sound design for film in Montréal, Ottawa and elsewhere, as well as for fashion and commercial projects. Live, Cabaal operates various controllers and synths to build cathartic rhythmic and ambient layers paired with his own geometric interactive visuals.
