Mary Bunch is Faculty Lecturer at the Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies at McGill University. Dr. Bunch earned her PhD in Theory and Criticism at Western University in 2011. Her teaching and research interests include critical theory and feminist, queer, disability and sexuality studies. Her current project explores the crisis in political thought that biopolitics poses as it intersects with sex. The research highlights those communities whose sex tends to fall outside of the bounds of regulation and legitimacy – border crossers, unruly queers, gender nonconformists, sex workers, and cripsex radicals – resulting in the increased precarity of these populations on the one hand, and their profound contributions to the political imaginary on the other.
