The Future of Mapping II

Mapping is a thriving practice that explores a large variety of surfaces and concepts. Still in its infancy, the visual language of this medium is often overshadowed by its sensational technical approaches. A parallel might be drawn to cinema at the time of Méliès, when visual impact was determined almost exclusively by technological innovation. So how has the field of mapping evolved and what’s next in the development of its visual language?

This second part of The Future of Mapping will start with a presentation by Robin McNicholas of Marshmallow Laser Feast and will be followed by a discussion addressing creative and conceptual issues in this emerging field lead by Thien Vu Dang and Jason Rodi.

This FREE activity will take place in English and will be broadcast live from the Phi Centre on our website in the STREAMING section.
