Austrian trio Elektro Guzzi play unconventional, techno-saturated electronic dance music as a band; with Bernhard Hammer on guitar, Jakob Schneidewind on bass and Bernhard Breuer on drums. While Elektro Guzzi’s music is undeniably structured, the post-punk trio fittingly favours analogue instruments, tape-machine recording and organic musical elements over heavy sequencing and digital processing. Elektro Guzzi has released several albums on Stefan Goldmann’s Macro imprint: from a 2010 self-titled LP followed in 2011 by full-length album Parquet, to a Live PA set mixed and produced by Patrick Pulsinger, a pioneer in Austria’s electronic music scene and co-founder of Cheap Records. The group has played numerous festivals and clubs, including MUTEK’s 2011 edition, where they instantly became a crowd favourite, filling the Métropolis floor and featuring in MUTEK’s Digitalis video series. More recently, they've mesmerized Barcelona’s Sonar and Berlin’s Berghain, Red Bull Music Academy, and during their 2013 tour of Japan. Elektro Guzzi’s newest album, Observatory, will be released on Macro in late May 2014.
