Iron Galaxy is Montréaler Adam Hodgins, a producer and DJ whose experimental electronic music falls into the compelling cracks between melodic indie songcraft and house, techno and bass. In 2012, Dutch label Audio Culture released his debut single, Attention Seeker, a bit of an updated cosmic acid-disco workout, and since then he’s released the four-song EP, Things We Lost Along the Way, on London-based Born Electric, while also working with Montréal’s Turbo Recordings. In the past year, Iron Galaxy has raised the heat in Amsterdam at a Boiler Room gig and at that city’s Applesap Festival, alongside a more extensive European and North American tour, plus high-energy shows at Montréal’s Piknic Electronik and Igloofest. Iron Galaxy also makes music with producer Dave Shaw, a.k.a. Sexlife. Live at EM15, Shaw and Francis Latreille join Hodgins to fill the stage with synths and drum machines, rolling out a constant soundtrack of intriguing, uptempo dance music.
