Oscillating between driving club-ready techno beats glinting with melody and all-encompassing layered drones punctuated by noise, Clip creates alluringly complex atmospheres for the living room or the warehouse.
A big band musician turned sound engineer, Edu Tarradas began to produce as Clip in 2011 after taking part in Red Bull Music Academy in Spain and collaborating on techno-influenced r'n'b tracks with Jorge Lima. With renewed perspective, he returned to mining his collection of modular synths, analog drum machines and other hardware for gritty melodies and waves of tape reverb to layer within deep dancefloor grooves. In 2016, the Catalan producer started his own label, Abstract Places Audio, with fellow Barcelona producer Xixa as a place to experiment further with dub and ambient releases. Clip's newest EP marks a prelude to his forthcoming album, building on his unique textures and complex patterns, entering a hypnotic state rife with dynamic drum sequences and atonal drones.
After hardware-oriented live sets at Lapsus Festival and MANRUSIONICA and an ambient-rhythms-meets-drone Red Bull Music mix, Clip joins fellow Barcelona artists for outdoor adventures with his bass-heavy tech-house
