○ René Barsalo - SAT: 16:15 - 17:15
A multidisciplinary designer for over 30 years, René Barsalo has been in a state of continuous mutation since the arrival of computers in 1984. During these years, he founded and managed several innovative companies and organizations within the design and communications sectors, from "all paper" to "all Internet." From 2004 to 2011, he contributed to the development of the SAT (Society for Arts and Technology), as its Director of Research and Strategy, centering his interests around the future impacts of very high speed networks, telepresence and immersion.
Working these days as a digital experience designer, strategist and consultant for companies building tomorrow's environments, he was invited to collaborate again with SAT to deploy the first 20 Scenic Stations, developped by the Metalab at SAT, to form the world's first network of telepresence stages in Québec this fall, within the "Scènes Ouvertes" initiative, supported by the Québec minister of culture and Canadian Heritage.
