An expansive studio software project fused with field recordings and live hardware performances, Stereo_IMG plays among the contrasts between soundscapes and pulsating rhythms, a-tonal sound collections and harmonious frequencies.
An education in cinematic sound design and music engineering alongside self-taught approaches to hardware and software permeate Haggart Ippersiel's spacious style: a blend of precise bass-driven techno and experimental ambient invigorated by the emotional highs and lows of filmic storytelling. After developing a strong sense of his own aesthetics through photography, he streamlined his Stereo_IMG moniker into a project for experimenting with his artistic skills, both musically and visually. Stereo_IMG takes us on dark narrative trip on roads less travelled in his latest release, pulsing through quiet atmospheres and climactic. His latest project, the colourful concept album Matière, uses original audio recordings from glass, wood, metal and plastic items to explore the relationship between humans and the materials we surround ourselves with.
Accustomed to performance iterations of his conceptual sound work, Stereo_IMG joins an afternoon of wild and free atmospheres and rhythms as he coaxes his sample bank into being.
