○ Moma: 17:00 - 17:30
Minimalist, wonky instrumental hip hop and downtempo inspired by Inuit mythology and global musical aesthetics, Moma manages a charming palette that reflects his curiosity for other cultures and a passion for cultural exchange.
Born in Saint-Lazare, Québec he started his musical career studying for a Diploma of Collegial Studies in Jazz Performance, but after graduation he changed tack and started exploring electronic music production. While continuing his education, this time exploring digital music at the Université de Montréal, he developed a minimalist sound incorporating his love for instrumental hip hop while keeping traces of his jazz bassist background. His song titles in French, English, Japanese and Inuit also reference eastern culture and the masterful work of Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai.
Blending electric bass playing, texts from mythical American authors and sounds from a variety of musical cultures, Moma provides the ideal atmosphere for late afternoons in the urban outdoors with a live performance of his subtle, culture-trotting sonics.
