Braue sets an enveloping tone all her own in multi-layered, free-ranging music to move to: deep house in perpetual motion and soulful techno seamed in bright synth melodies and subtle distortion and reverb.
Inspired by the west coast's rainfall and often-impenetrable mist, Braue’s sound is contemplative and coastal, reaching beyond the confines of land into oceanic expanses. A classically trained pianist, Brow infuses her electronic music with a natural musicality and attention to detail, whether recording as Coral Beech or performing live as Braue. Alongside making her own music for over a decade, she pushes her electronic community forward through record label UBU and in her collaborative work with avant house and techno soul crew Subversive Music, intent on promoting high quality new media events that bring locals and international artists together. She's hosted and played alongside house and techno artists The Black Madonna, Daniel Bell, DVS1, Efdemin, Joey Anderson, Prosumer and Steffi. Recent time spent in Berlin has pushed Braue to hone and sharpen her moody sounds for those discerning dance floors.
Braue recently performed at the Basscoast festival in B.C., IPSE Berlin and at numerous club shows in Vancouver and Seattle. At MUTEK, she'll shine her light on the outdoor stage in a new versatile and creative live set.
