In this dire moment of mass extinction and climate chaos artists and designers cannot sequester themselves to galleries and studios. This workshop will explore and analyze the interdisciplinary field of ecosocial art through the lens of practitioners working in urban ecosystems and other landscapes heavily impacted by human activity. Drawing on socially engaged art, urban ecology and environmental activism, we’ll look at how specific artists and collectives (including The Environmental Performance Agency) have joined the struggle for multispecies solidarity and ecological justice to combat the environmental challenges we collectively face. Activities will include the presentation of case studies, experiments with multisensorial research and engagement strategies, and discussion and brainstorming about related approaches and practices.
*This activity is only available to holders of three-day tickets: IMG Passport and IMG Conference Pass. Registration is mandatory and instructions will have been sent by email.
