Informed by a creator’s unique set of circumstances and experiences, the act of art-making comes with signatures, with a style, a personality and meaning—sometimes explicit, other times not. Now that we are at a point in the evolution of digital arts where the tools are no longer the star, or the primary sensation in artworks, we can begin to consider the personal language of the author, details at the level of the self, and to locate the humanity and soul in their work. What influences manifest in their pieces? Where do they see themselves in their aesthetic inclinations? How is meaning constructed in non-narrative environments?
This series of presentations features digital and audiovisual artists who are part of this year's Amplify cohort, representing Argentina, Peru, the UK and Canada.
