The MUTEK [ES] A/Visions audiovisual series sees an important addition to its programme with 1024 Architecture, a collective that stages playful explorations that survey the space between high and low-tech, sound and visuals, art and architecture. In Crise, performers François Wunschel and Fernando Favier play two newly jobless businessmen whose toxic resentment of credit crunches and cracks in the system comes alive through inspired interplay of light and sound.
With their Presión Profunda album voted as one Spain’s top releases of 2013 in specialized media outlets, Nev.Era + Xarlene appear with their new live A/V show where Xarlene’s visual poetics, based photographs and realist imagery intertwines with the music of Nev.Era, hypnotic, subtle, and seductive without losing an insistent feeling via its underlying club sound.
A/VISIONS 1 is presented by the Institut Francais in Barcelona.
