Greyfield : Wavefield

Première mondiale

Greyfields is an ongoing audio-visual project investigating the psychogeography of commercial environments – for instance, of security and power infrastructures that dot the urban landscape. Using expressly designed induction microphones, this latest rendition finds experimental sound artist Michael Trommer capturing the electro-magnetic spectra emitted by systems which regulate cities’ many financial and political hubs. By suggesting a graphic representation of the standing wave patterns (or “wavefields”), in the form of sinister sequential tableaux, video performance artist Nokami (aka Eric Fillon) brings the invisible and inaudible to light. Nokami’s visual panorama examines the emotional clash between ancient cultural traditions and the present. Trommer’s practice mainly focuses on psychogeographical explorations; he has notably performed with members of Berlin’s raster-noton collective.
