Sound Design and Sampling in the Age of Endless Possibilty
Sampling has come a long long way from it's humble beginnings at the hands of pioneers such as Afrika Bambaataa and Grand Master Flash re-purposing and extending soul and funk tunes for their own futuristic visions. These days technology has come so far as to allow us to sample the very air of a room and place any sound we choose in it. With such a vast realm of creative tools at our disposal it can be easy to lost in the endless possibilities and never get down to the business of actually making music. This workshop will look at various strategies for overcoming these obstacles and look at some of the most exciting tools on the market in the process.
Following the workshop, Deadbeat will be joined by fellow music technology super geek Robert Henke aka Monolake for an extended conversation on their joint philosophies on sound design and diverse related topics.
