MUTEK 2009

As many of you will recall, this past February we co-hosted an event at Berlin's Panoramabar called PASS THE TORCH, which for us signified the end of one 10th edition - that of Club Transmediale - and the beginning of another - ours. We here at MUTEK took the symbolism of that showcase to heart, and we've used the passing of that torch to help inspire the assembly of an anniversary event that would match the scope, ambition, and personality of that which our friends at Club Transmediale delivered, while simultaneously matching what we imagine a MUTEK_10 celebration to embody.
Now that we're fast approaching this significant occasion, we're eager to share a few important dates that will help you prepare for MUTEK_10, which will run this year from May 27th to May 31st:
On March 16th
We will announce the main headliners of the 10th edition. This will be complemented by the launch of our brand-new website, www.mutek.org, where you will be able to purchase festival passports. The new Mutek website will offer a big step forward in content, interaction and user-friendliness. So please make a point of visiting the new website on that day to find out more about what we have in store for this edition.
On April 15th
We will reveal our general festival line-up, and tickets to individual events will become available.
On May 13th
We will host a press conference that will reveal all the last details of the program, including our numerous special events, conferences and workshops.
What to expect from MUTEK_10?
This year's anniversary edition will constitute an expansion of the programming MUTEK has become known for over the last nine years. We have many reasons to celebrate our first decade of accomplishments, and we will begin by opening a new chapter of the Montreal festival with an expanded format, intended to offer maximum value for the festival-goers who come to MUTEK from around the world. After years of operating at full capacity in its current venues, the festival's 10th edition will introduce new showcases, venues, and ideas.
