Esplanade de la Place des Arts

Exhilarating raw bass thumps into quirky arpeggiated melodies and unassuming vocals samples in JMII's esoteric variant of slimmed-down, slightly shadowed Balearic house.

As a collaborator, Jami Bassols was known namely as part of the Hivern Discs family with ambient house-techno duo Aster, before his solo debut on 100% Silk revealed a passionate talent for finding the perfectly warped synth line, distorted vocal and classic techno beat. After spending time in Berlin focusing on his studio skills and working as a resident DJ at Geradehaus (the collective behind epic nights with guest artists Ata and John Talabot), Bassols has tapped into the physical side of his electronic expeditions, releasing vibrant dancefloor journeys of multilayered drum sequences and resonant distortion-tinged synth tones on 12” Thrills, plus remixes for Studio 3 and his newest house-soul project Olde Gods with producer-singer-songwriter Guillamino.

After playing Primavera Sound this summer, JMII joins the Barcelona crew for an wide-ranging outdoor set of his hardware-heavy experiments in upside-down house.

With the support of Institut Ramon Llull and Barcelona City Council.
