Barac is clearly one of the most prolific producers on the Romanian scene today. He may not have many releases out, but his unreleased tracks have already found their way into many extraordinary mixes. It first started with Noi Doi, the formula that brought Barac and Dubtil together some time ago, now it continues with an EP already launched on Naural and a double one on Metereze, plus another 2 releases on his own label called, Moment Records.
And that’s only half of it. Of course Barac is also djing and of course he knows his stuff well. Of course he has a live act and, again, of course it’s very good.
Getting more and more known for his real name, Barac, half of the NoiDoi crew decided in 2012 to extend his solo works.
Dedicated to good vibe and harmony, this artist warms up our souls and brings a smile on.
Born with a soft spot for music, he managed to gather years of musical experience, which can be felt and tasted in his productions just like a fresh opened bottle of an old wine.

Barac’s melodic progression twists around reconstructed raw bass lines and hypnotic grooves, alongside lower key ambient leanings that nevertheless bombard the senses too. Part of Romania’s diverse and growing underground electronic culture – a close-knit scene that includes RPR Soundsystem and Livio & Roby, and where 48 seamless hours of adventurous music and integrative visuals followed by after-after parties is a legal norm – Barac breaks down straight ahead rhythms into syncopated percussion layered around original synth sounds, with alterations that catch the attention of listeners whether they’re dancing or idly dreaming.
Releasing tech house tracks as NoiDoi with fellow Romanian producer Istoc Robert since 2009, Barac went solo with a more abstract and minimal sound in 2012, seeing one of his tracks on the Fabric 72 mix soon after. As his visibility rose, he released several tracks and an album (on fellow Romanian producer Raresh’s Metereze label) before founding his electronic imprint Moment in 2015 with the release of Theory, a collaboration with tech-house producer VincentIulian, followed by his energetic and highly rated Moment of Clarity.
After playing Bucharest’s Interval 100 (100 hours of non-stop music on two stages at Club Control) this winter, followed by Amsterdam’s Dockyard festival, Fabric London and Paris’s Rex Club, Barac arrives at MUTEK hot off the beach at the 19th edition of Romanian music fest Sunwaves, where he shares the stage with Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Moonear, DeWalta and dozens more artists. Barac's live set brings that festival’s filtered sunlight and the artist's own warm techno harmonies, to the big room at Métropolis.
