Pisnlob Project (CO)

Currently, the Pisnlob Project has been restored to microMUTEK.CO leaded by Andres Garcia La Rota and Juliana Castro Duperly. 

Highlighted in the artistic field with works within the digital photography, video and video installation, Andrés García La Rota is an artist recognized both locally and internationally. Restless manager and organizer of events related to digital art, he has also combined his career with a penchant for the academy, being professor of Video Art, Experimental Television and Computer Assisted Image in universities such as Javeriana, Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Nacional from Colombia.

His art exhibitions have led him to Centro Cultural Juan De Salazar (Asuncion - Paraguay, 2014) Festival loeildoodaaq (René - France, 2013), Museo de Arte Moderno of Santa Marta (Santa Marta – Colombia 2010) Galery Lennox in Toronto (Toronto – Canadá, 2009); Magdalena 1928, Bienal de Bogotá, Museo de Arte Moderno (Bogotá - Colombia, 2009), “La Gran Obsesión”, Museo Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá – Colombia, 2008), “Estado/Medio” at Luces de San Servolo, Bienal de Venecia at the Saint Servolo Island (Venecia – Italia, 2009), among others.

He has won several awards and has been curator of several samples. He was also highlighted during the nineties by creating and directing the collective Pisnlob Project, composed of artists with avant-garde and revolutionary character in their artistic approaches.

Andres Garcia La Rota has revived the name Pisnlob Project, together with Juliana Castro Duperly, outstanding visual artist known with his _ema project, along with Arturo Betancourt, a kind of experimental platform that creates symbiosis between image and music, hosting digital error aesthetics to reveal how fragile and nostalgic are images. Recreating the digital culture, it generates new audiovisual experiences by making music videos, video installations, interactive video, stage design and VJing sessions.

The Pisnlob Project proposes for this edition of MicroMutekCo a rapporteur for the imaginary landscapes around the “Chronicles of Indies” in a dive to a horizon of time. This micro-opera leads to new landscapes questioning cinematic fiction and proposing distort the traditional narrative visual language, prompting the expanded leakage to return to thinking about the tender, fragile and life.
